Ynyshir, Battle, Brecon

Ynyshir is a striking example of a modern new build bungalow set in the stunning rural landscape of Battle, near Brecon. This project began with significant groundwork, including a large-scale muck haul to lower the site to its desired level. thus done to ensure the property sat perfectly to take full advantage of the panoramic views of the Brecon Beacons.

The foundation slab was poured using a concrete boom pump to ensure a smooth and efficient pour as room was limited. The home itself features a clean and contemporary aesthetic, with cream-coloured render walls complemented by stonework on both the rear and front-facing elevations. Provence green windows add contrast and a traditional countryside charm, tying the design neatly into its surroundings.

The bungalow is accessed by a sweeping tarmac driveway, professionally laid by Coyle Surfacing, which curves gently up and around to the front of the house. A post-and-rail fence frames the property at the front, while a stone retaining wall lines the turfed lawn, providing definition and structure where the drive meets the home’s entrance. A private garage is neatly incorporated into the footprint of the house, ensuring both form and function were carefully considered throughout the design.
